About Us

At Nature Crafters we run termly after school clubs for children who enjoy exploring various forms of art & crafts; painting, drawing, modelling, sculpting in a fun, supportive and friendly environment.

Being inspired by the natural world we aim to use natural and recycled products in our classes. We will be working on projects that will expand their knowledge of art techniques and inspire their imaginations as we explore current environmental issues.

Our Views

We will be working on projects that will raise awareness about environmental issues as well as expanding knowledge about the 3 ‘r’ s: reduce, reuse, recycle.

The Creative Child is:
Inspired – Imaginative – Persistent – Creative – Independent – Curious

The Creative Child Learns:
Perseverance – Co-operation – Concentration – Abstract thought -Self – Awareness – Self Confidence – Appreciation of the world around us

’Keep your love of nature, for that is the true way to understand art more and more’
— Vincent Van Gogh

What we have been up to

This term we learnt about the important role our trees play in our ecosystem. Without trees human life would not exist. We looked at some of the insects that can be found in trees and talked about the recent reports that insect populations are in danger and the impact that will have on our planet.

The children created some wonderful beech tree pictures, used willow to make incredible colourful insects, made colourful creature pictures and learnt how to add perspective to their paintings.

Last term was all about wild animals! Using information provided by our subscription to the WWF we learnt about endangered animals and what is being done to  try and protect them. The children were inspired to create their own endangered animal pictures, as well as using clay to make hedgehog models, and sketching ‘save the Orangutan’ posters.

Previously we have been learning about how our plastic rubbish is ending up littering our beaches.

We made posters to bring awareness of the impacts plastic has on marine life and also painted our own image of a perfect beach scene free from litter.

Being inspired by the natural world we aim to use natural and recycled products in our classes. We will be working on projects that will expand their knowledge of art techniques and inspire their imaginations as we explore current environmental issues.

Testimonials

Thank you so much for this term.  I have to tell you how much my son, Percy, adores Nature Crafters and it makes every Monday morning so happy knowing he will be there after school. He loves it.

We will definitely be signing up for next term. 😁

I just wanted to say how much the girls are enjoying nature crafters. They really look forward to the classes and take great pride in showing me their crafts when they come home. They were so proud of their polar bears and elephant pictures today.

Thank you!

Danielle

Thanks so much Fran!

George is absolutely loving it, thank you so much for being so brilliant x

“Ellie really enjoyed attending Nature Crafters after-school club last term. She would come home every week telling me all about the crafts she did in the session and learns very important information about the environment.”

“Fran, thank you ever so much for all the hard work you put in to Everley’s 2nd Birthday Party. She had an absolutely fantastic day as did the other 17 children! The canvases and photo clips took pride of place in Everley and Max’s bedrooms before they went to sleep that night! We are so glad that we decided to do a Nature Crafters Party, and would recommend them highly – thank you again for everything. You’re organisation and delivery made the whole day really easy for me!”
